Isis Washington's Journey to Tokyo 2020

Making an Olympic team could be the pinnacle of any competitive athletes'career. It is my dream and goal to compete as a person in the 2020 US Olympic Team. My name is Isis Washington and I have already been fencing since ninth grade, was 1st Team All State during senior school, the 2015 NCAA Women's Epee Champion (the first African American Women's Fencing Champion for St. Johns'University) and, currently a proud representative of Team USA Women's Fencing. I have spent a long time and tens of thousands of hours preparing for this time.

To be able to make my dream a fact, I need your help. I will have to spend much time preparing with my coach and personal trainer and will travel both domestically and internationally in order to qualify for the team. You will find 4 National Tournaments, 5 World Cups and 3 Grand Prix remaining this season. The expenses connected with training and competing exceed $35,000 annually.

I work part-time and volunteer coach the youth at the Peter Westbrook Foundation Saturday Program in New York City. I also work mentoring young women in the fencing community.

My life's goal is to start an academy that provides children from underrepresented communities with special talents. This system would provide resources to support a premier tier education and Isis Washington's Journey to Tokyo 2020 help the student achieve their dreams whether it take the arts, sciences, Isis Washington's Journey to Tokyo 2020 or athletics. I think you need to always give a lot more than what you receive. The reward is a lot more meaningful.

Thanks for the generous support.
